Volume 3.2 of Ferdinand Tönnies's Collected Works contains his monograph on Thomas Hobbes (1588-1679), which was first published in 1896, with the second and third editions published in 1912 and 1925, respectively. This work reflects the continued progress and concluding synthesis of Tönnies's lifelong studies on the English philosopher and is considered an early milestone in international Hobbes studies.
