A Possum's Tale

Throughout Native American history there are many stories or legends of animals' roles in society from the trickster to shapeshifters. Many tribes have similar myths and many are very different. A Possums Tale is the retelling of a Southeastern story of Possum and his daily interactions with neighboring animals along the Mississippi river and how his tail got its unique features. This is the first book by Amy Bruton Bluemel, an award-winning Chickasaw storyteller and artist.
