A photographic record of Arkansas's rich material heritage. This first volume covers the introduction and establishment of such artisan traditions as furniture making and silversmithing, notes the materials and special techniques used by potters, gunsmiths, and jewelers, and illustrates the delicate craftsmanship with about 400 photographs.
