Claire Sterling's marriage has grown stale over time with all efforts to re-kindle continually proving fruitless. To make matters worse, Claire's husband, Frank, went outside the marriage for sexual fulfillment and, in an effort to satisfy his lust for power and money, accumulates a battery of unhappy business affiliates, resulting in his untimely death. Not believing her husband's death was an accident as originally assumed, Claire convinces police detective Tony Mancuso to investigate further. As the investigation unfolds, Claire finds that her friend, Jayne, was having an affair with both Claire's husband and her gardener, Daniel, who proves to have a darker side. Claire soon discovers that Jayne's motives aren't just sexual flings. As the investigation comes to a surprising climax, Claire's unexpected love interest in Detective Mancuso is happily reciprocated, her friend, Linda, exposes her bizarre involvement, and the mystery explodes in an unexpected twist of characters and events.
