Electrochemistry of the Membrane Solution Interface

Ion exchange membranes play a key role in many water treatment and separation processes. However, their performance is often limited by concentration polarization at the membrane-solution interface. This book presents a study of the electrochemical behavior of ion exchange membranes, with a focus on the membrane-solution interface and its impact on ion transport, concentration polarization, and overlimiting phenomena. The study employs various electrochemical techniques to analyze how concentration, electrolyte type, and buffer solutions influence mass transport mechanisms.
