Throughout its history, flying has captivated imaginations, especially for the many who have made flying their passion as well as their career. Hangar Talk explores the world of flight from the most compelling vantage point -- that of the pilots themselves. Through extensive interviews with hundreds of men and women, Irv Broughton has collected the compelling stories of individuals from the early days of biplanes to ventures into space.The stories are as varied as the individuals, including pilots such as Dorothy Hester Stenzel, a barnstorming pioneer; Bob Hanson, who flew "The Memphis Belle; " Betty Wood McNabb, flying Civil Air Patrol; Jack Yaeger, telling about the Nagasaki overflight; Dale Storr, relaying his Gulf War experience; and astronaut Joe Allen, among many others.
