Kafka's War

This is a novel about Franz Kafka in the First World War. In 1917 he was diagnosed with tuberculosis, and he moved away from Prague for the first time in his life and lived in the countryside. It's an account of a man trying to come to terms with a dangerous illness and a tormenting sense of failure. It's an account of a man trying to find some inner peace in a violent and disintegrating world. And it's an account of one of Europe's greatest writers embarking on a new and radically different book.
