This is the true story of a professional musician whose colourful, if chequered career has enabled him to review the past with a relaxed, philosophical eye. Anthony Sharp attended his local grammar school, and on an organ scholarship went up to Oxford where he shared tutorials with fellow Londoner, the late Dudley Moore - who rose to international fame and fortune while Tony drifted from gig to gig, clutching at straws and failing to capitalize on his achievements. Written with delightful candour and wit, he traces the years from choirboy days, school and university, through work and close encounters with the famous and ‘infamous’, to life in a Spanish village and the dubious pleasures of altercations with the wicked over his Steinway grand piano.
