Straightaways is het tweede album van de Amerikaanse rockband Son Volt. Het werd uitgebracht op 22 april 1997. De groep werd gevormd door Jay Farrar nadat zijn vorige band Uncle Tupelo uit elkaar ging.Hoewel hun eerste album nog erg op alt-country gericht was, had Straightaways een meer alternatief rockgeluid. Verkrijgbaar in een gelimiteerde oplage van 1500 individueel genummerde exemplaren op turkoois gekleurd vinyl.

Straightaways is the second album by the American rock band Son Volt. It was originally released on April 22nd, 1997. The sound of this album is much related to the sound of their first album Trace. However, where Trace is still very alt-country oriented, Straightaways has a more alternative rock sound.
