Spilled Tea Tastes Better

Awakened by my beloved Auntie, at 7:00 a.m on Saturday, April 11, 1981, at Tuckerman Street, Washington, D.C., with my wedding party of 24 stirring themselves to wake up because I would be getting married in six hours. During my entire engagement I believed that I would be marrying a King, when in fact only after ten days we had just shared our I do's to each other, in the presence of God, family, and friends, I abruptly discovered that through having a long distance telephone conversation with my then father-in-law (RIP), and my then husband's stepmother I learned that I had married a Queen....
