Spirituality a curse or blessing?

From an evolutionary perspective, the ability to believe in and experience spirituality and to practise rituals seems to be as old as humanity itself. However, the way society approaches this topic has changed dramatically. Something so ancient, so natural, something that has developed over such a long period of time and played such an important role cannot and should not be ignored by science, society and medicine in the broadest sense. Taking a look at the extent to which spirituality is healthy, makes us healthy and how experiencing spirituality affects physical and mental health as well as emotional stability therefore makes sense in principle, and also with regard to psychosocial counselling - because here we must perceive people as a whole and consider them in their entire potential.
