This book aims to prepare newly appointed members of the bench for their responsibilities, and to guide them and their experienced colleagues through the many problems that may confront them. While the book is written in a simple to read format, it is comprehensive in its coverage of all aspects of the magistrate's work. It is, however, not only written for lay magistrates and potential magistrates, but also to assist the court clerk and the advocate appearing before the court to perform their duties more effectively.
