150 Golden Years - The history of the Black Dyke (Mills) Band is being published to coincide with the 150th anniversary of Black Dyke Band. Diverse figures from outside the brass band movement such as Paul McCartney, Edward Heath, Russ Abbott, Andre Previn and Alan Titchmarsh all have strong links with this exquisite musical combination which recorded Paul McCartney's Thingumybob , provided the atmospheric backing for the popular TV programme Groundforce and has featured at the Royal Albert Hall alongside the London Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Andre Previn.
