A Book of Fragments and Dreams is a tribute to Rebecca McManus, a young poet of tremendous promise, a great friend of Unthank Books who was tragically killed in a hit-and-run incident only days after graduating from the University of East Anglia in 2014.The poems collected here show that Rebecca had already found her voice and was well on the way to achieving her ambition of becoming a recognized poet. Her voice is distinct, silky and songful, her poems romantic and dreamy yet unflinching. They suggest that more was to come, that she was soon to flower, mature into an important and vivid writer. It was Rebecca's dream that she would one day have a volume of her poems published. It is a dream that has now been realised.
