The story tells of a small town and a teacher who goes out of her way to see the best in all of her students, this special teacher's name is Mrs Benson. Mrs Benson knows everyone in the town she and her husband built the town along with their past ancestors. Mrs Benson is the pillar of the town. When a new family comes in town, she usually the first one to welcome them. So, when her new family moved in with a little boy named Tommy it was like a whirlwind had came in. Tommy was meen and disrespectful and loved bullying the younger children and having his way. Mrs Benson soon found out that he was being talked that way by his father who was abusing his mother. His mother was a God fearing woman who was taught that your husband comes first then your kids. She was friendly but shy and afraid of her husband,who didn't allow her to see or talk to her parents. Mr Baker was tall and slim and had nothing to do with the town folks. He was always on his son side no matter what it was.
