Bol This thesis aims to provide a scientifically sound assessment of Olaf Kühl's translation work, based on his translation of the book *Die Reiherkönigin. Ein Rap* from Polish into German. The young author of the book (original title *Paw Królowej*) is Dorota Mas¿owska, an extraordinary Polish writer who is constantly one step ahead in terms of language and thought and who stands out in the Polish literary landscape. For the critical analysis of the translation, Margret Ammann's framework model was employed, which enables a highly detailed and comprehensible analysis. The challenge that this 'rap novel' posed for the German translator was certainly a considerable one - partly due to its consistent demands on linguistic form, its novelty and the messages it conveys.
