Bol Thomas Ellison was nineteen years old when he published his first collection of poetry, A Deferred Ambition. 8 years have passed and the now twenty-seven year old is back with new found understanding. A Deferred Ambition: Revised Revelations is a full circle moment for the writer as he confirms and confronts the ideas that encapsulate the many obstacles he faced as an adolescent. With ongoing themes of poverty, masculinity, and sanity, Revised Revelations delves into the personal experiences of Ellison while providing commentary on the psychological and environmental effects of growing up on the west side of Dayton, Ohio.
