A Fever in Summer is a book of poetry and prose that takes readers on a journey for truth. This book highlights the experiences of Bran Lee Tom as he navigates the gritty and oftentimes lonely city of Los Angeles as a gay man of color. Never knowing his father, Bran finds himself searching for identity in a world that is resistant to change. He finds solace in Grindr hookups and reminisces about the guy down the street who may have been the best sex he's ever had.A Fever in Summer captures the anger of Amanda Lovelace's "The Witch Doesn't Burn in this One" and the passion and frankness of Nayyirah Waheed's "Salt". Bran hopes to help to give a voice to those who are queer and of color.
