He is a professor in the School of Humanities at Zhejiang University of Technology and a leading young and middle-aged academic figure in Zhejiang Province. His research primarily focuses on classical Chinese fiction and drama. In 2000, he received his Ph.D. in Literature, and later conducted postdoctoral research at the School of Humanities, Fudan University.
