Dear Reader, You don't know me but I'm your next-door neighbor, but you never get to talk to. I'm the girl on the street who you assume is a horrible person because of how she looks. I'm the girl sitting in the back of the room at the farthest corner of any trying to go unnoticed yet failing miserably. Everyone has a backstory. Not all of them are worth talking about and mine is exceptionally bad. I won't horrify you with all the details. They are hard to hear and even harder to talk about. I know I'm not the only one who feels that way or has had to battle for every morsel and breath. I don't want to just be "that girl" that everyone looks and points at because of my past. I want others to see me for the person that I've become and the person I want to be going forward. My story won't be easy to read. It's not just some fairytale where the girl meets the guy and they live happily ever after. It's a unique look at what it took to turn battered broken girl into the woman you see today. It's a look at what happens when light is introduced into the darkness. It's an illustration of the resilient, all-encompassing, never-ending power that is love. And how that completely unstoppable love took a broken, battered little girl and transformed her into something worth talking about. It's a story that needs to be told and it needs to be shared. -Jordana
