Nowadays, a country is considered civilized when it is a state governed by the rule of law-that is, a country where human rights are guaranteed and respected. Human rights are inalienable and imprescriptible. This guide discusses the inalienable and imprescriptible rights of children and students in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. A child has rights, and so does a student. Children's rights are also enshrined in international instruments such as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the Convention on the Rights of the Child, etc., but in this guide, we will focus solely on the rights of children and students as enshrined in our country's domestic laws. These rights are recognized in the various codes of the Democratic Republic of the Congo; these codes serve as instruments for the promotion and protection of these rights, which are the subject of our country's protective mechanisms-namely, the courts and tribunals and the labor inspectorate. This guide aims to be the first of its kind in providing information on the rights of children and students in our country.
