A Resteless Hart: Story of Faith, Grace, and New Beginnings

Synopsis A Restless Heart: A Story of Departure, Seeking, and Return to Faith Guilherme Augusto Santos Ferreira (G. A. Santos) Brasília, 2026 Guilherme was baptized, made his First Communion, was confirmed - and then let faith slip through his fingers without ever noticing. First came the Order of DeMolay, then Freemasonry, then Spiritism, then the emptiness none of them could fill. Then came the reckless years, the bankruptcies, the betrayal, the divorce. And then, quietly, the planning of his own suicide. But God had never gone anywhere. A Restless Heart is the honest, unvarnished account of a reconversion that began not with a mystical experience, but with a mother's faith, a stranger's prayer in a parish, a rosary handed over by a beggar at a traffic light, and a homily that described an entire life as though it knew exactly whose life it was. Across ten chapters, the author traces with precision and depth the movements of a soul that drifts away and finds its way back: an inherited faith that was never nourished enough, arrogance disguised as reason, years of searching down paths that promised much and delivered nothing, and the irreplaceable role of community, the sacraments, spiritual direction, and concrete charity. The book closes not with the proclamation of an arrival, but with an invitation toward a direction - verso l'alto, upward, always upward. Written for anyone who believed they had strayed too far to return, the book meets its reader exactly where they are - without simplification, without judgment, without the tone of a convert who has forgotten what it felt like to be lost. Genre: Spiritual autobiography / Catholic spirituality Audience: Catholic adults - practicing or lapsed - especially those carrying the weight of estrangement and doubts about whether return is possible Length: Approximately 130 pages / 11 chapters + appendices
