In Kazakh folk medicine, the plant Eminium, known as "kushala," has long been used to treat tuberculosis, although it is commonly believed to be poisonous. It should be noted that there is still no scientific evidence supporting the medicinal properties of this plant, as there is no data on its chemical composition. The chemical composition of Eminium Regel, specifically its elemental composition and the content of biologically active substances (BAS) such as flavonoids, alkaloids, and saponins, has not been previously determined. This literature review examines known data on the chemical composition of a related plant-Eminium Lehmannii-as well as existing methods for determining bioactive compounds in medicinal plants.
