This was a descriptive and prospective study of two cases of acute lower limb ischemia identified over a 6-month period in the Department of General and Digestive Surgery at the Yalgado Ouédraogo University Hospital in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. Patient No. 1 presented with irreversible bilateral acute ischemia of both lower extremities (advanced acute Leriche syndrome) with hypercreatinemia at 1672 µmol/L. He underwent bilateral above-knee amputation following hemodialysis. He was later fitted with prosthetic limbs for both lower extremities. Patient No. 2 presented with obstructive stenosis of the common and deep right femoral arteries. An emergency cross-femoral prosthetic bypass had been performed. He was discharged from the hospital but readmitted on the 45th day for thrombosis on the prosthesis. We performed a thrombectomy using a Fogarty catheter. The outcome was satisfactory, and the limb was saved.
