Bol This book examines administrative liability in Cameroon. Administrative liability designates the obligation incumbent on the administration to repair the damage caused by its action or inaction. It is an important part of administrative law. Administrators are, therefore, liable to third parties in the course of delivering the public service either personally or indirectly through their actions. The liability of the administration can be traced right back to the Blanco decision in 1873 which marked a turning point in Administrative Law. This book posits that the rules of responsibility of the public authorities are generally of judicial origin and independent of the rules of the Civil Code and ordinary law. Liability disputes are, for the most part, within the jurisdiction of the administrative judge. This means, the Administrative Court is the competent court to hear administrative disputes in Cameroon. This book explores the history of administrative justice in Cameroon and analyses the various categories of administrative liability, the personal and vicarious liability of the administration, and the conditions and circumstances of exemptions of administrative liability.
