Trust in God answers sometimes are not how we expect. Six-year-old Curtis lived in a small log cabin beneath Wyoming's snowy Grand Tetons during the hard times of the 1930s. His family had no electricity, phones, or extra money, but they worked hard and prayed every day. Each winter evening, Curtis rode Old Blue, a gentle gray draft horse, to bring the cows home through deep snow for milking. One day Curtis stayed too long skating with his friend Tom Nalder. By the time he reached the meadow near the beaver pond, darkness covered the mountains. As he gathered the cows, a howl echoed through the trees. "YIP YIP YEOWWLLL!" Wolves were coming. The cows raced for the barn, but Old Blue could only walk slowly, "Plip Plop, Plip Plop." Curtis prayed as the wolves drew closer. Suddenly, bright headlights from a Model T Ford flashed across the snow, scaring the wolves away. The car followed Curtis and Old Blue safely home, and Curtis wondered if angels drove Model T cars.
