WHY I WROTE THIS AUTOPSY I did not write this book to make you comfortable. I wrote it because the body is cold, and we are still pretending it is sleeping. Africa is dying twice. The first time, we were killed by theft. By the pen. By the tender. By the budget that never reached the bed. By the road that died in one rain. By the school that produces graduates with no future. That was murder. The second time, we are killing ourselves with silence. By clapping for thieves. By saying "all of them are the same" and going to sleep. By exporting our best minds and calling it "greener pastures". By burying truth so deep, even God has to dig. That is suicide. I have two graves in my mind. One faces South, to the ancestors. We buried shame there. One faces West, to the children. We buried hope there. Same place. Same Africa. This book is structured like an autopsy. Chapters 1 to 5: How we died. Who held the shovel. How we stop. Chapters 6 to 10: The other graves we keep digging. Guns. Strangers. The Sea. The Constitution. And finally, how we rise. You will not find easy answers here. You will find mirrors. You will find accusations. You will find proverbs our grandmothers told us and we forgot. You will find anger. But more than that, you will find a way out. Because an autopsy without a verdict is useless. And a verdict without action is a lie. So read this with an open wound. Read this as if your child's future depends on it. Because it does. After Chapter 10, the book ends. The work begins. This is not a book of comfort. This is a book of resurrection. Stanslaus Kyando
