African immigration in the world: International law faces new challenges of West United States America

International migration shapes global dynamics, involving 258 million migrants in 2017, 64% in high-income countries. West Africa's migration is driven by economic hardship, conflict, and political instability. Migrants seek family reunification and better futures, shaped by globalization and labor demands. These movements raise sovereignty and human rights challenges, especially amid restrictive policies. This book examines legal issues of forced migration, international responses to West African asylum seekers in the US, and state responsibilities for consular protection. It also analyzes regional frameworks like ECOWAS and the African Union, highlighting ongoing political and economic crises fueling irregular migration. The research exposes the gap between international conventions and migrants' realities.
