Against the Grain: A Hawkins Novel

In Hawkins, art isn't just decoration-it's a conversation. And this one is about to get loud.Harper Hollins thrives on momentum. Bold, volatile, and unafraid of friction, she believes art should provoke, disrupt, and demand attention. Hannah Evans disagrees. Thoughtful, restrained, and quietly exacting, she believes meaning lives in precision-and that not everything worth creating needs to shout. When a public debate over art spills from the studio into the heart of Hawkins, the town takes notice. Flyers appear. Opinions form. Social media lights up. And suddenly, what started as professional opposition becomes something far more personal. As Harper and Hannah are pushed into reluctant proximity, the tension between them sharpens-creative, ideological, and undeniably physical. Each woman is forced to confront what she believes about art, control, vulnerability... and the fine line between rivalry and desire.Set against the backdrop of a town that watches closely but rarely interferes, Against the Grain is a sharp, slow-burn sapphic romance about creative ownership, emotional risk, and the kind of love that emerges not despite conflict-but because of it.Against the Grain is a standalone novel in the Hawkins series-quietly intense stories about women who collide, resist, and ultimately choose honesty.
