In this book, we discuss current knowledge on the dynamic crosstalk between the gut microbiome and the immune system in CRC, with particular emphasis on immune dysregulation as a central mechanistic link. We examine how host genetics, diet, and environmental factors shape microbial composition and function, leading to altered mucosal immunity and persistent inflammatory signaling. Furthermore, we highlight emerging microbiome-associated immune biomarkers with potential utility in early detection, risk stratification, and prognosis. Advances in artificial intelligence (AI) and systems biology are increasingly enabling integrative analyses of microbiome, immunological, and nutrigenomic datasets, offering novel insights into CRC heterogeneity and immune-microbial interactions.
