Ali Sardar Jafri is known as a great Urdu poet, short story writer, thinker and critic. His mental development was influenced by the ancient literary traditions of Urdu, classical values ¿¿and thoughts, as well as the social, political and societal environment of that time. A study of Sardar Jafri's critical writings shows that he never presented himself as a critic, but he always expressed his point of view as a reader and writer with great humility. He said that in the progressive movement, the true meaning of literature can be understood only through the scientific concept of aesthetics. The majority of the workers and the people are ignorant. We certainly sympathize with them, but they are not aware of the classicism of literature. If we descend to their level, our literature becomes vulgar and cheap. The work of a writer is to create literature, if art is lost in literature, then only naked subject matter, sloganeering and propaganda remain.
