Analysis and diagnosis of the milk production system in Taqua Valley

Milk production is part of the history and development of the Taquari Valley region in Rio Grande do Sul. Over the years, the agricultural sector has undergone several investment interventions that have placed the region among the leading regions in Brazil in terms of productivity. However, as development grows, problems arise in terms of supply and demand and imbalances in investment, which are causing a crisis in the sector. It can be concluded that Galicia suffers from some past decisions, with the reduction in the number of small and medium-sized properties being an increasingly serious problem. The Taquari Valley shows significant growth in milk production and productivity, but suffers from numerous properties becoming insolvent. External agents need to work with producers to enable them to make farming viable, increasing income and improving regional development.
