ANALYSIS of MORTALITY RATES: In the health districts Region Murcia (2013-2016)

This study presents an analysis of mortality rates in the nine health districts of the Region of Murcia during the 2013-2016 period, with the aim of assessing the existence of health inequalities related to health determinants. Using official data from the Murcia Regional Statistics Center and statistical analysis techniques (ANOVA and Bonferroni post hoc tests), this study compares the leading causes of mortality across health areas, as well as their trends over time and differences by sex. The results show a high degree of homogeneity in mortality rates across the region, with only isolated differences identified in certain conditions, such as mental and behavioral disorders, respiratory diseases, neoplasms, and some diseases of the nervous and genitourinary systems. These findings support the existence of notable health equity in the Region of Murcia, while highlighting the need to further investigate the detected differences to guide future public health strategies.
