This study is part of an innovative initiative and aims to provide insights prior to the launch of activities leading to the drafting of the national action plan on improving health and environmental conditions in and around artisanal and small-scale gold mining sites, as well as the implementation plan for the Minamata Convention in Gabon. Its focus is on Gabon's efforts to protect the environment. These efforts should be evaluated by highlighting the overall assessment of the situation, followed by suggestions or recommendations to be considered during the development of the implementation plan for the Minamata Convention on Mercury.
