In the CEMAC region, hoarding and limited financial literacy are holding back economic growth, perpetuating an outdated paradigm that is not conducive to productive investment. At the same time, access to bank credit remains constrained by stricter prudential requirements introduced in the wake of major global crises, reducing banks' ability to finance the real economy. Faced with these challenges, one path is clear: building a new financial culture, where savings are transformed into investments and where governance inspires confidence. The BVMAC and BRVM financial markets thus emerge as strategic levers, offering a plentiful and transparent financing environment. Their adoption by the citizens and governments of Central Africa is essential to mobilize local savings, attract investors, strengthen financial sovereignty, and drive sustainable growth.
