Ancient Masters' Case Studies on Classical Formulas

This manuscript extensively collects ancient medical literature, including works and case records by physicians dating back to before 1911 (the end of the Qing dynasty). It screens and organizes case records from renowned physicians who predominantly used classical formulas as their primary treatment approach. Approximately 50 classical formulas are included in this manuscript. These formulas are categorized and arranged according to the order in which they appear in the standard editions of the Treatise on Cold Damage Disorders and Essentials from the Golden Cabinet (referencing the 2005 edition published by People's Medical Publishing House). Case records for the same classical formula are arranged chronologically based on the physicians' lifetimes. Centered around each classical formula, the manuscript provides commentaries from the perspectives of pathogenesis and treatment principles, flexible use of medicinal substances, and the author's own clinical insights.This manuscript takes ancient masters' case records as the horizontal axis and the application of classical formulas as the entry point. It not only reflects the unique characteristics of how physicians from different periods applied the same classical formula but also demonstrates the evolution and developmental process of classical formulas since Zhang Zhongjing's time. The manuscript features comprehensive and reliable case records, clear classification of classical formulas, insightful annotations and commentaries, and strong clinical relevance.
