Andrea Chung: Between Too Late and Early

Through cyanotypes, sculpted sugar and collage, Chung combines the past and present of the Caribbean into her multimedia critiques of race, ownership and belonging Drawing on the Caribbean's history of slavery and colonialism and its contemporary issues of climate change and overtourism, San Diego–based artist Andrea Chung (born 1978) creates multimedia works that incorporate symbolic materials such as sugar together with reconfigured archival photos.
