Bol We hardly make any informal eye contact with or speak to Gods and Goddesses. We behave autistically towards them although we pray to them for our own and our family's well-being. Our eulogistic prayers do not carry any personal touch. The author shares a 'live' case where a non-believer prayed to God under severe stress and God spoke to him, listened to him and fulfilled his wish. In another case known to the author, a visiting Shakti Tantra researcher from the US could feel the presence of the divine energy, leading to an out-of-body experience. The energy did not speak but carried a message which laid a definite path for the researcher for his future explorations. The author cites several examples where authentic devotees could feel the presence of divine energy in their lives, showing them the way. In this context, he introduces psychologist Julian Jaynes's concept of the Bicameral Mind, according to which the human mind is divided into two chambers. The left chamber is the 'output provider' that accomplishes all day-to-day standard, routine tasks for living and working whereas the 'right chamber' is the 'input producer' where divine voices are heard carrying instructions for solving critical problems. The author also introduces neuro-psychiatrist Iain McGilchrist's 'Divided Brain' theory where the Right Brain had been the Master with the Left Brain being his Emissary - the role has just reversed in modern times with the advent of modern technology. The book analyses the concept of God from a totally different neuro-psychiatric angle.
