Artikal's Perspective: The God I Am

I was a victim of gun violence, car accidents, and police brutality. My skills as a sound system DJ were also established during this period. I acquired many vinyl records and played for quite a few parties. I had many friends - some of whom attended my parties. When I wasn't behind the turn tables I could be found in one club or another. There were many instances when shots were fired in the clubs or outside the club. At times there were casualties. During the same time, I managed to acquire an associate's degree in architecture from a City University of New York (CUNY) School.I told her that I loved her but that I had regretted very much about what took place earlier. I said that it can't happen again. I also said that we had sinned and disappointed the Lord and that the reason I returned was to pray for us as a couple that God would forgive us and get us back on track. I told Sexy C that the Lord may possibly put us together as husband and wife one day but that we can't jump the gun sexually before we jump the broom.Although the Bible has many flaws, contradictions and errors, many people claim that it is the word of an all-wise God who sees everything and who has all knowledge. Christians claim that the Bible transcends all of history and applies to all people not only of ancient times but especially of today. The Bible forbids any kind of sexual activity unless it's between a man and woman who are legally married to each other. If that doesn't seem unusual in any era, how about the fact that the Bible suppresses women and condones slavery and views such oppression as normal, acceptable and the will of God?As physical DNA is passed to a child from both parents through his or her ancestral lineage, so is spiritual DNA is passed on to children. It is the indwelling spirit of an individual that determines his temperament, mood, sexual orientation, aptitude, tendencies and so on.Pastor Shaqueel had raised his voice and barked at me. He called me "a wolf in sheep's clothing" and that hurt. I could not see why he thought of me that way. I know that I wasn't perfect, but no one is? I was doing my best to live as a good Christian and to serve the Lord by doing his will.
