Ashes and Ambition

Ashes and Ambition: A Story of Dreams, Fire, and Finding Myself" is a memoir that delves into the complexities of a man's journey through chaos, identity, and resilience. Set against the backdrop of Chicago's South Side, the narrative explores the life as a teenage father, gang member, college student, inmate, and ultimately, a man striving to balance redemption with responsibility. Told with brutal honesty, emotional depth, and moments of levity, this memoir is not about perfection or happy endings-it's about persistence. Dr. Wright takes the reader through pivotal moments: surviving a gunshot, raising eleven children with five different mothers, completing advanced degrees while on parole, and building a real estate company after repeated economic and personal collapse. The story resonates with anyone who has ever wrestled with self-worth, generational trauma, or the pressure to outgrow their past. It's a story for those still fighting, still hoping, and still building-brick by broken brick.
