Ashes of the Infinite Mecha War

Arin, a maintenance worker exploring a restricted crater that officially should not exist, discovers a colossal living mecha called the Valkyr Frame buried in ash and wired with organic, vein-like circuitry that reacts to his presence as if it has been waiting for him. Upon contact, the machine awakens partially and forcibly initiates a neural "pilot sync," flooding Arin's mind with fragmented memories of an ancient, catastrophic war involving city-destroying machines and a previous pilot who may have been connected to him. As the activation spreads, dormant global systems begin to react: satellites flicker online, hidden signals classify the machine as an "unregistered frame," and other buried war machines across the planet begin to stir, including one rising from the ocean floor. Arin, overwhelmed and unable to separate his thoughts from the machine's influence, flees the crater as reality itself begins subtly distorting around him-suggesting that the war he thought never existed is not only real, but resuming.
