Assessment of Facilities Required for Implementation Play-Based Pedagogy in Preprimary Schools

Making the early childhood education environment conducive, safe, and attractive for children to learn through play requires careful planning of the facilities to be used. Consequently, facilities are central for using play-based pedagogy in the instructional process. Therefore, for the development of children's curiosities, creativity, and well-roundedness play-based pedagogy is essential that demands the establishment of appropriate play facilities. For example, schools must have classrooms that are safe, child-friendly, and have movable furniture to enable the creation of appropriate play environments that are accessible to preprimary school children. The classrooms must have indoor games (learning corners) that are well-equipped with play materials such as storytelling areas, arts, manipulative, toys, play cards and other play materials that are appropriate for preprimary school children's play environments. The school environment must also have outdoor play areas that are accessible to early childhood children. The outdoor play areas must be child-friendly to enable children to play freely in the outdoor environment. The classrooms must consists of different painting that can catch and attract the attention of children in the instructional process
