Assessment of Growth Parameters in the Irvingia wombolu Trial: Trees for Change and Landscape Improvement Congo Basin

Irvingia wombolu is a species of the Irvingiaceae family. It is a species that provides non-timber forest products (NTFPs) with significant socioeconomic and medicinal potential. As a result, Irvingia wombolu is highly prized by local communities, who use it as a source of traditional medicine and dietary supplements. Given the growing population and the increasing demand from local communities, it is important to further propagate this species to ensure its long-term sustainability. The cuttings technique used will serve to produce stable genetic material. Evaluating the growth parameters of Irvingia wombolu will therefore allow for the updating of data on its growth and development in ex situ conditions. It will also be important to manage variations in production in terms of the quality and quantity of this species' fruit. This work is innovative in the field of agroforestry in the Congo Basin in general and in Cameroon in particular. It will serve as a reference for researchers, students, the media, and all stakeholders in civil society and sustainable development.
