People living with HIV have an impaired quality of life compared with the general population. We propose to evaluate the psychometric properties of the literary Arabic version of the WHOQOL-HIV BREF questionnaire, an international tool for measuring QOL specific to people living with HIV, and to verify its reliability and validity in an Arabic-speaking cultural context. A cross-sectional study was carried out on 134 PLHIV undergoing specialist consultation. The WHOQOL-HIV BREF questionnaire was translated and adapted using a standardized back-translation procedure. Concurrent validity was examined through correlations between the six domains of the questionnaire and two global measures: general perception of quality of life and satisfaction with health. The literary Arabic version of the WHOQOL-HIV BREF showed excellent overall internal consistency (¿ = 0.92). Regarding concurrent validity, all domains were significantly correlated (p < 10-³) with both global measures. The highest correlations were observed for the Environment (D5) and Degree of Independence (D3) domains.
