Avery the Fox

This is the story of Avery the Fox, a gentle fox living in a tall-treed forest who feels different from the others. Born female but knowing himself to be a boy, Avery struggles to understand why he isn't accepted and faces rejection from the animals around him. When a wise owl notices Avery's sadness, it offers comfort and guidance, likening Avery's true self to a sunrise or a rainbow--natural, beautiful, and worthy. The owl explains what it means to be transgender, sharing that gender can be male, female, both, or neither, and that unkindness often comes from fear and misunderstanding. With renewed courage, Avery stands tall and declares who he is with pride and joy. He learns that gender isn't defined by "he, she, pink, or blue," but by honesty, kindness, and self-love--keys to peace, acceptance, and harmony.
