This gap calls for urgent attention and standardized guidelines.Focusing on the state of Gujarat, this study presents findings from a comprehensive field survey involving 385 respondents from rural, semi-urban, and urban areas. The research evaluates public awareness and practices related to the disposal of unused and expired medications among professionals, students, and households. It reveals a concerning lack of knowledge about safe drug disposal.The book emphasizes the urgent need for public education, policy intervention, and collaborative efforts across sectors. By addressing pharmaceutical waste management, this work advocates for sustainable development and a safer environment, offering practical recommendations for improving disposal practices across communities.
