Back To You

Not every soldier's story ends on the battlefield.A moving addition to any home, classroom, or library shelf, and a gentle way to open conversations about war, family, and coming home. 'Back to You' begins where the battles end. The war is over. After years of mud and silence and waiting, a young Australian soldier finally turns his face toward home - toward the people, the place, and the life he has held onto through everything. But the road home is long, and the world has kept moving without him. In this quietly powerful picture book, one man's journey back is also a journey inward: through memory, through loss, and through the deep, unspoken love that keeps us tethered to the ones we belong to.Inspired by a family story rooted in the service of the 2/19th Battalion, AIF, and ANZAC spirit, 'Back to You' honours the men and women of the Second World War, not through the noise of battle, but through the stillness of return. With bold, earthy illustrations and language drawn from the heart, this is a book about sacrifice, belonging, and the enduring pull of home.
