Baptized!: Why Did I Get Wet?

Why did you get wet?For many Christians, baptism has been reduced to a church tradition, a public statement, or a religious box to check. But Scripture presents something far richer. In Baptized! Why Did I Get Wet?, Kirkland M. Rite walks back to the water and asks what God was really saying through it all along. With warmth, humor, and biblical depth, this book traces the story of baptism from the waters of creation to the Jordan River, from the mikvah to the ministry of Jesus, and from Pentecost to the life of the Church. Along the way, it explores repentance, covenant, witness, new birth, belonging, divine authority, and the relationship of the water, the Spirit, and the blood. This is not a cold academic treatment and it is not a denominational sales pitch. It is an honest, engaging, Scripture-soaked invitation to reconsider one of the most familiar and misunderstood acts in the Christian life.If you have ever wondered whether baptism means more than you were told, this book will help you see the river again with fresh eyes.
