Bear Haskell, U.S. Deputy Marshal: A Western Double: 1

WESTERN FICTION MEETS ACTION-PACKED JUSTICE IN THIS GRITTY, DOUBLE-BARRELED SAGA OF LAW, REVENGE, AND SURVIVAL.Meet Bear Haskell: Union war hero, ex-Pinkerton agent, and now a no-nonsense deputy U.S. marshal. Towering at six-foot-six and wearing a bear claw necklace taken from the grizzly that nearly killed him, Bear is a man built for frontier justice-and for settling scores. In Gun Trouble at Diamondback, Bear is sent to investigate the cold-blooded outhouse murder of his old friend, Marshal Lou Cameron. But Diamondback holds more than just a killer. There's Lou's widow-beautiful, dangerous, and hiding secrets of her own. Then, in The Jackals of Sundown, Bear rides into Texas after a ghost with a gun, Jack Hyde, a ruthless, contract-killing phantom no one's ever seen and lived to describe. The trail is cold, the body count's rising, and even Bear Haskell might be outmatched by a killer who strikes like a shadow across the plains. Will Bear's grit be enough to bring the Jackal to justice-or will he vanish like so many others?
