Betrayed: Raven Spirit

Jon McKinzey, known among the Shoshone as Raven Spirit, finds refuge with the tribe and is ultimately adopted into their way of life. As he learns their customs and earns respect, he marries Singing Grass and begins building the quiet, hard-won foundation of a family. But peace does not come easily. Jealousy and betrayal rise from within their circle, and Jon is forced to stand between his wife and those who would harm her. To protect Singing Grass and the future they are trying to claim, he must prove himself a warrior and defend his family's place in the tribe. When the time comes to return to the McKinzey ranch on the Willamette River in Oregon, Jon travels with Singing Grass and their child, determined to secure a safer life for them all. Yet the road home offers no simple passage. Drawn into a wagon train heading west along the Applegate Trail, Jon faces fresh dangers; rough country, mounting tension and the constant threat of violence. Betrayal strikes again, and it's fueled by Will Lowery and others willing to risk lives for vengeance and gain. Through repeated confrontations and a final, decisive threat that endangers his family once more, Jon holds fast to his purpose. Finally reunited with his adopted brother Shepherd, the brothers surmount yet another threat to their peace. They plant their stamp on the American heartland, forever symbolizing the great American spirit! Does Raven Sprit avenge this next betrayal? Will another scalp hang from Raven Spirit's scalp pole?
